Abstract • We present IRAS data on 196 optically selected galaxies in the area of the Virgo Cluster. All available IRAS survey observations for each object were combined to achieve greater sensitivity than achieved by the IRAS Point Source Catalog. Of the 196 galaxies, 78, 82, 139, and 135 are detected, respectively, at 12, 25, 60, and 100 microns. For each of these objects, a total flux density and an uncertainty are given, In addition we find or suspect resolved emission in 49, 56, 72, and 23 galaxies, respectively, at 12, 25, 60, and 100 microns. For most of these galaxies, a signal width at half-maximum and an uncertainty are tabulated. For galaxies that remained undetected, the upper limits (mostly 3 σ estimates) have a median of 0.12, 0.17, 0.135 and 0.34 Jy, respectively, at 12, 25, 60, and 100 microns. We give for all objects a value or an upper limit to the parameter FIR (expressed in W m^-2^), which is a convenient combination of the 60 and 100 micron fluxes. The derivation of FIR is discussed in the Appendix.
