There is considerable involvement and interest in Pasadena in the proposed Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) mission. The Science of WFIRST will be explained in three lectures over the course of two hours on May 27th at 3 PM in Cahill's Hameetman Auditorium on the Caltech campus. These lectures will be aimed at the level of an educated manager or engineer and will include plenty of time for questions. This would also be a good chance for some of the interested scientists in Pasadena to meet the project folks at JPL and IPAC working on WFIRST. The tentative schedule is as follows: Brief Intro to WFIRST (Jason Rhodes, JPL); Dark Energy (Harry Teplitz, IPAC); Microlensing (Joe Catanzarite, JPL); Near Infrared Survey Science (Dan Stern, JPL)
