It is difficult to overstate the impact of the Kepler exoplanet survey on our understanding of the diversity and nature of exoplanet systems. In my talk, I will highlight some of the most significant demographic results to be gleaned so far from Kepler results, including how we can have appropriately cautious confidence in population studies that use predominantly unverified transit candidates. I will also present some new work, enabled by combining the world's largest spectroscopic and imaging surveys of Kepler host stars with subtle statistical analysis, that will shed light on hitherto observationally inaccessible questions regarding planetary system formation and evolution.
