In a few years' time, JWST will launch and provide an outstanding resource for the exploration of a wide range of astronomical topics. This colloquium will introduce the scientific capabilities of JWST (with only a minor MIRI bias) to the Caltech/JPL community with an emphasis on "How do I use this thing?" We will touch on instrument features, sensitivity, operations/constraints, proposal planning, data policy, etc. About the Speaker Mike Ressler is the Project Scientist for the Mid Infrared Instrument (MIRI) on JWST.
