NASA Selfies Privacy Policy

NASA SELFIES PRIVACY POLICY SUMMARY

Caltech/IPAC produced the NASA Selfies app as a free app. It is provided by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is intended to inform about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. This is neither intended nor directed to anyone under the age of 13.

CAMERA

NASA Selfies uses the device's camera solely to allow users to take their own photos, which are subsequently combined with space imagery to generate "selfies." NASA Selfies does not store any information captured by the camera other than local storage of the photos taken by the user.

PHOTO/MEDIA/FILE STORAGE

NASA Selfies uses access to the device's storage to save photos taken by the user, and the device's gallery to save the final selfie products combining the camera photos with space imagery.

TRANSMISSION OF INFORMATION

NASA Selfies does not transmit any information, including photos taken by the camera, except as directed by the user if they wish to upload final selfie products to social media.
