Overview: The NASA Exoplanet Science Institute (NExScI) is a science operations and analysis service organization for NASA Exoplanet Exploration Program projects and the scientists and engineers that use them. NExScI facilitates the timely and successful execution of exoplanet science by providing software infrastructure, science operations, and consulting to NASA Exoplanet Exploration Program projects and their user communities. NExScI is operated by the California Institute of Technology for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

NExScI provides operational software infrastructure and support; archiving of and access to observational data; and consultation for all stages of an experimental project, from concept development and proposal writing to implementation and analysis.

Specifically, NExScI administers and schedules NASA's portion of time on the Keck telescopes and with the W. M. Keck Observatory, develops and operates the Keck Observatory Archive, the final repository for all data collected by the Keck telescopes.  Additionally, NExScI develops and operates the NASA Exoplanet Archive and the Exoplanet Follow-up Observing Program (ExoFOP) providing data and tools to support exoplanet exploration. NExScI also runs the Sagan Summer Workshops. NExScI also supports the NASA Hubble Fellowship Program, the Large Binocular Telescope Interferometer (LBTI)NASA-NSF Exoplanet Observational Research (NN-EXPLORE) and the Kepler/K2 projects as well as additional projects in the Exoplanet Exploration Program.
