IPAC Online Services
Following is a summary of online interactive services available at IPAC:
- IRAS GALAXY Atlas - The IRAS galactic plane atlas contains high
resolution (~1 arcmin) imagery of the galactic plane
(and regions in Orion, Taurus-Auriga, and around rho Ophiuchus)
at 60 and 100 microns.
- IRSKY -- An observation planning tool, allows display of
IRAS images, overlay of catalogs on the images, and information
on the ISO satellite, all useful in planning ISO observations.
- IBIS (IRSKY Batch Inquiry System)
is an electronic mail,
batch version of IRSKY. IBIS will compute the infrared sky
background and confusion noise for targets using parameters and
positions from the input file that it receives.
- XCATSCAN -- A catalog scanning tool, provides interactive
queries of the IRAS databases, as well as many other major
astronomical catalogs including the FSC Optical Identification Database.
- XSCANPI -- The Scan Processing and Integration tool, can
interactively view and coadd individual IRAS source
detections.
- NED -- NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database, a directory/access
system for literature on extragalactic objects.
IRAS Data Processing Services Available Via E-mail
- SCANPI & SUPERSCANPI (a.k.a. Addscans) -- scan coaddition
of the IRAS calibrated raw survey data. SUPERSCANPI allows
coaddition of the scans for multiple sources.
- SCANPI Overview.
- Automated address for request template and instructions:
addscan-req@ipac.caltech.edu
- FRESCO -- Full RESolution Survey COaddition. Coadded images
of the IRAS calibrated raw survey data with no resolution enhancement
or smoothing applied.
- FRESCO Overview.
- Automated address for request template and instructions:
fresco-req@ipac.caltech.edu
- HIRES -- Resolution enhancement of IRAS data using the
Maximum Correlation
Method. Actual resolution achieved varies but can be better
than an arcminute.
- HIRES Overview.
- Automated address for request template and instructions:
- hires-req@ipac.caltech.edu
