GRATING RANGE

The plot below shows the encoder position against wavelength. Here you can see that the range 187um - 198um can only be done in extended mode (encoder < 1400). If one can live without covering these wavelengths, than requesting LWS01 from 43-170 um will run the grating through its nominal range (1400-3500) and will also cover 170um to 187um and will save ~20% in time.
