- BASIC INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION:

ISOCAM, the infrared array camera on board of ISO, provided imaging capabilites across a field of view of up to 3 arc-minute diameter. Two optical channels, each with its own 32 pixels X 32 pixels infrared dectector array, were availble. The short wavelength (SW) channel operated between 2.5 and 5.2 microns, and the long wavelength channel (LW) operated between 4 and 17 microns. Each channel also included different magnification lenses to provide a pixel field of view of 1.5, 3.0, 6.0 and 12.0 arcseconds. The filter set comprised 11 SW and 10 LW broad-band filters and 2 circular variable filters (CVF).

All ISOCAM images are now in public domain and available through the ISO archive.
