Subject: 2MASS results for ISO galaxies

George & Danny,
I have gathered various morphological and photometric information for about
half of the ISO key galaxies (the other half have yet to be observed). I have
also computed colors, including J-H, H-K and J-K. There are two sets of
photometry and colors: one corresponds to an aperture that is circular and
fixed with a radius of 7". The other is an isophotal aperture, fixed to the
K-band isophote of 20 mag/arcsec^2, using the elliptical shape of the galaxy.
The latter set of photometry is the "standard" set (or the one I recommend).
The fixed-7 is probably the most robust, however. IN any case, I have computed
colors for both sets.

For your convenience I have made two tables. One contains all of the
information I have gathered. The other is stripped down to color information.
Also, I have made some color-color plots to show the distribution. You will
note from the tables that there are duplicate observations for some galaxies.
I left them in for completeness (they are useful as a reliability check, e.g.).

Check them out at: sagan:/j5/iso_key

"iso_gals_2mass.tbl" -- the big table, including IDs, image names, ellip params,
photom, surface brightness and colors

"iso_gals_2mass_small.tbl" -- the stripped table containing mostly colors

"colors_fix7.gif" -- a plot of J-K vs. K, & J-H vs. H-K, for fixed R=7 photom
"colors_iso20fe.gif" -- same as above except for the isophotal photom

The stamp image cubes are located here: /j5/iso_key/stamps
