Polarimetric imaging

Polarization maps can be obtained, taking successive images through the three polarizers. Polarimetric images can be obtained in a series of filters or CVF positions, but a CVF scan is not feasible in the polarimetric mode. Beam-switching and celestial rasters are not possible either. The polarimetric measurements are always combined with measurements without analyzer, on the free hole of the entrance wheel.

Polarization imaging will not be realized through an AOT, as originally foreseen, but it will be accessible through the Calibration Uplink System.
