Gain and encoding (SW)

The Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), and the programmable offsets and gains control are shared by the SW and the LW channels. The offset is automatically set and the observer must choose the gain. A gain 2 for SW is recommended, which provides a good sampling of the noise, while preserving the whole dynamic range of the array. In these conditions, one Analog to Digital Unit - hereafter ADU - corresponds to 360 e, the pixel saturates at 3000 ADU, and the noise is 2 ADU rms.
