DATA ARCHIVES

IRSA: The NASA/IPAC Infrared Science Archive provides archival data and access tools for NASA's infrared and sub-millimeter astronomy projects and missions. IRSA provides software and Internet services to facilitate astronomical discoveries, support the production of new astronomical data products, and to plan future observations utilizing the data archives from infrared astrophysics missions supported at IPAC. IRSA is a component of NASA's distributed Space Science Data Services, leveraging resources at other NASA centers and elsewhere to enable new functionality, while at the same time supporting and collaborating with these remote archive systems.

NED: The NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database is a comprehensive and multi-faceted archive of data for over 3 million extragalactic objects. It is built around a master list of objects with extensive name cross-identifications, accurate positions, and basic photometric data. Bibliographic references relevant to individual objects have been compiled, and abstracts of extragalactic interest are kept on line. Detailed and referenced photometry, position, and redshift data, have been taken from large compilations and from the literature. Data and references are being continually updated, with revised versions being put on-line every few months.

Spitzer Data Archive: Tools for accessing the data archive of the Spitzer Space Telescope.

MSC Archives: The MSC archives include the Keck Observatory Archive (KOA), the Keck Interferometer archive, the Palomar Testbed Interferometer archive, and the StARS TPF preparatory archive, a collaborative effort between the StARS group, IRSA and the MSC.

NASA/IPAC/MSC Star and Exoplanet Database (NStED): NASA Star and Exoplanet Database (NStED) is an archive and search facility for data on mainly nearby stars, with emphasis towards planet finding research. The database contains a variety of published measurements of positions, kinematics, photometry, multiplicity, activity, and other fundamental stellar properties. The initial population of stars is taken as the entire Hipparcos catalog merged with the rest of the data sources. These data sources (primarily published catalogs and papers) are selected via literature searches on a core group of stars (list). NStED allows users to fully trace the data to the original publication and provides an option to view the 'as published' value of the datum. There are currently 140,230 stars in NStED.

2MASS: The Two Micron All-Sky Survey archive provides on-line, ftp and DVD-ROM access to the 2MASS Catalogs and Atlas Images, and to the 2MASS Point Source Catalogs.

ISO Archive: The Infrared Space Observatory archive provides access to over 30,000 scientific observations and an additional 62,000 parallel and serendipity observations obtained during the ISO mission.
