Herschel Key Program Announcement of Opportunity
The NASA Herschel Science Center is pleased to inform you that the
first Announcement of Opportunity for Herschel as been released by
the European Space Agency. This is the call for proposals for "Key
Programs" - large observing projects to be carried out early in the
Herschel
mission.
The Key Program AO and related information can be found by following
the proposal information links on the NHSC web pages (URL above).
Note that the NHSC will be refining and expanding these pages to aid
US-based proposers in obtaining all necessary information easily.
Funding Opportunities for US-Based Investigators
A related announcement of opportunity for NASA funding of
successful Herschel Open Time Key Programs will be available
on the NHSC web pages about mid-February. Please check those
pages for information when it becomes available.
In addition to Key Program funding for US-based investigators, we
are planning to call for proposals for Theoretical Research and Laboratory
Astrophysics funding for research associated with Herschel science.
Information about that opportunity will be issued at the same
time as the Key Program funding information and will be found
in the same place on the NHSC web pages.
The NHSC is looking forward to serving the US community
in their planning and use of Herschel.
