DISCUSSION

  1. Flint and Lint

A question arose regarding whether flint and lint (for FORTRAN and C programs, respectively) were supposed to be used for subsystem code. The answer is that there is a requirement in the FDD (section 2.6) requiring these tools to be used to help ensure against typographical and other errors in coding.

  2. Rodan Deliveries

Beginning as of the Wednesday, 20 November, deliveries, all 2MAPPS software deliveries will be to /2massc/del on rodan. Both lugosi and rodan will have /2massc/dev areas so that compilations for both types of CPU can be easily done. R. Beck reported that he will be on vacation Monday through Wednesday of next week, so that with the Thanksgiving holidays, there will be no software deliveries accepted next week. That leaves the following week's Wednesday deliveries to support the December 5 internal milestone for 2MAPPS version 0.2.

  3. Sparc Upgrades

    T. Chester reported that the current budget supports one Sparc upgrade for each person in the next five-year period, and it will be left up to each person when to purchase an upgrade. Several are needed very soon, and some have been done already. Anyone wishing to schedule their upgrade (currently to an Ultra 1 workstation) should coordinate this with T. Chester.

  4. Filled Partition

The /2massc partition on lugosi has filled up. It appears that some significant amounts of data have been stored there, and team members are requested to relocate such data to other partitions immediately.

  5. Survey Scheduling Software

    R. Cutri reported that a telecon with UMASS has been scheduled for Wednesday to discuss transferring the existing code and future responsibility for mountaintop survey scheduling software to IPAC. C. Beichman, R. Cutri, J. Fowler, and G. Kopan will participate in the telecon for IPAC, and R. Stiening and M. Rudenko will participate for UMASS.

  6. More Simulated 3-Channel Data

    R. Cutri reported that additional simulated 3-channel data will be prepared from five MSX scans and six M67 scans. This will expand the testing capabilities for 2MAPPS in the extended absence of real 3-channel data.
